Limbaugh fakes heart-attack in order to push political agenda
He picked a weekend that would garnish maximum media exposure, and every clip of him on TV shows him declaring that there is nothing wrong with the US Health Care System. Of course there are people dying who would disagree...

I'll bet he also got a nice batch of painkillers for his efforts as well....

21. He has approximately 12-20 million listeners at any give time during the day
estimate by the ratings services. A small small percentage of the overall population. He is only 'popular' because the MSM deems him so......

33. The way that they come by that number is flawed like hell too
I don't remember the particulars though but in realility the number of different people who listen to him is way smaller than the number you gave and thats the number they all give but its a bullshit number. If you tune in for a few minutes one day of the week you are counted for all days of the week, something to that effect.
at any rate limberprick can kiss my okie ass

37. true quite flawed, but the MSM dictates his importance
The ONLY people who can listen to him 3 hours a day are people on the Government dole (but they won't acknowledge that). We had a woman came into our dealership a while back and since I was the only person free I got to drive her home while her car was being serviced. She INSISTED we listen to limpballs, in spite of my gentle protestations, "he is a good boy and is right" this from a woman in her 70's. A person who would benefit from HCR in spite of what Rush may spew.

I remember reading this a long time ago. And for sure it is just about the same people everyday, so I would say at anyone time or day there are about 3-4 million, not 15-20, and these same people are counted every day as if they were different people. But those idiots are very loyal and follow his every word like sheep and believe everything he says.

13. Or
He suffered an actual medical incident and because he survived with minimal harm he is exploiting his luck in order to promote a horrid political philosophy - deliberately concealing the fact that he is multi-millionaire who can easily afford the best of care.

Personally, I'm thinking that the "appetite suppressants" he's taking as part of his Quick Weight Loss Center program are what brought on his symptoms.

And to that, all I can say is keep fucking that chicken, Rush.

and that's what's so bizarre about the nature of mental disconnect. It's right out there for all to see.

His zombies are all worked up -- his blame and smokescreening gives them an outlet to experience their anger and transform it into misdirected hate.

He ends up creating an impenetrable force field of fandom around himself -- stupid people are blinded by the glamor and cannot, dare not penetrate it with awareness.

28. Well, you have a point
His fans know he is a very wealthy man but choose to disregard that fact because their desire to believe he is "one of them" is so strong. They fulfill their hopes vicariously through him and forgive him his wealth as if it were some sort of cross he is forced to bear in trade for "representing" them.

34. His wealth isn't a cross, it's a reward and an honor.
His wealth represents what they think America is all about. If you work hard, you can make a lot of money. They think he's the Kobe Bryant of radio. He deserves it. He's "earned" it.

I know, I know, it's a fucked up point of view.

I still feel some truth in the "cross to bear" analysis too, though. The other side of his success, which separates him from them. Awareness of that has to be repressed or redirected in order for t hem to hold onto their idolization.

15. You're probably right on this!
Limbaugh is now saying that there is not one thing wrong with the present health-care system because he was treated no better than anyone else who call 9-1-1.

""The treatment I received here was the best that the world has to offer,” Limbaugh said. “Based on what happened here to me, I don't think there's one thing wrong with the American health care system. It is working just fine, just dandy."

Limbaugh said that despite his celebrity he received the same treatment as anyone else who would have called 911 and been taken to the hospital in his condition.

"I got no special treatment," he said, adding that the care he received was nonetheless "confidence inspiring."

the problem is that he has very little credibility with the general public. In their own small minds, conservatives may have thought as you post. But they would be wrong because they can't see beyond their own ideology. Its kinda like Hannibal Lector getting caught because he was insane and couldn't see it, much less see through it.

First off the guy isn't that clever. Second all he can do is say "health care in America is great for millionaires" which will only make it worse for anti-HCR people. What Rush is doing is showing people exactly how wide the divide is between health care for millionaires and health care for the rest of us. The only people buying into his crap are the standard 20-30% of fools who actually believe that Limbaugh is one of them.

32. We need to push that Hawai'i has a health care system in place
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=7377411&mesg_id=7377411

What Limbaugh neglected to mention is that Hawai`i enacted sweeping healthcare reform more than 35 years ago!

No one in Hawai`i has mounted a serious effort to reverse the reform law (based on employer mandates) since its enactment in 1974. The Prepaid Healthcare Act - summarized here - is largely working for both patients and the healthcare industry. And it's generally considered more beneficial to patients than anything currently on the table in Congress. That's why the House of Representatives earlier this month approved the Hirono Amendment, which allows for Hawai`i to be exempted from the federal reforms if the existing state law is deemed better.

42. Who says they were playing along? The ER will treat anyone who claims to have "chest pains".
Even if the hospital was duped, there is no way to prove it. Limbaugh could simply say he did have chest pains, and was worried and called the ER. At that point, it's their responsibility to assume he does have chest pains and treat him accordingly.
