Poll question: Do You Still Watch MSNBC Politcos? Rachel, Keith & Ed?
They were all the rage before the election, but I find myself tuning in less and never watching an entire show when I do tune in.

How do you feel? Are you a big fan or a big so-whatter?

Vote below.

Comments are appreciated.

25. There's always the proud "I don't watch TV" gang chiming in.
Your believed intellectual superiority to the rest of us is duly noted and filed away. Thank you.

Rachel always, Keith most days, and Ed never. I don't have a TV, so catch the shows on line later in the evening.

34. Great!
Have you ever tried _Project Free TV_ to catch some of the TV shows and movies? I don't watch much, but it's fun to catch a few episodes now and again of shows or movies I've enjoyed before.

Who needs a TV or cable, right? :hi:

5. Keith and Rachel
Never really got into Ed, he's a bit tiresome. And I don't like those multi-person shouting panels he has.

Keith and Rachel are still very relevant.

Keith is fine, Rachel is fine, Ed. I just can't watch that format, it makes my teeth hurt.

No cable teevee "news" shows for me except the indy ones. And Thom, you need to change your music. lol

10. I watch Keith
Ed says whatever gets him viewers, some DUers were right about that all along. Rachel gets stuck on issues and ends up being a broken record sometimes. So I stick with Keith when I want to turn on news, which isn't very often because it's just a Obamabash.

14. Greedy bastards at Comca$t killed my MSNBC feed
I'm not paying them over $100 a month to get it back. Funny though that they send me lots of junk mail offering me this great deal on some shit package that includes FAUX and CNN, but no MSNBC.

And if they deliberately censor the network this much NOW, just imagine how worse things will get if they are allowed to own it.

17. Other: Don't watch television news or listen to talk radio . . .
Radio is hate speech and I've no time for it. As for television, it's my contention most issues are far too complex for such a superficial medium. I'll occasionally tune in, to see visuals of specific events, for there are times when a picture is worth a thousand words (e.g., Katrina), but for the most part I find the treatment given by even the best to be too facile, too "neat" and too much like television programming: everything has to have a beginning, middle, and end, and there's little room for nuance.

I watched Rachel Maddow for awhile before the election, and occasionally tuned in to Olberman. I can't stand Tweety -- too bombastic, too stupid for my taste. Maddow I enjoyed, but corporate saddled her with a racist thug, Pat Buchanan, and I couldn't take anymore of his putrid spew. So I tuned out again, after only a few short weeks of viewing. And honestly, I'm a better person for it.

18. I watch Rachel always; Ed, never; Keith, usually, but...
Rachel is extraordinarily bright and well-informed. She has good guests--and she lets them finish their thoughts when it is their turn to talk. She is funny, as well, but dead serious when needed. The guy she has at the end of the show for her Cocktail Moment is actually pretty good when she has him do a news segment. I'd like to see him develop some more. Total fan of Rachel.

Ed is a blowhard. I can't stand the yelling.

Keith is a bit of a problem for me. He is also bright and well-informed, but he interrupts his guests in order to make his own points instead of letting them finish. He may be stressed--I know his mom died and his dad is sick-- but he's getting louder and more sarcastic. I find that hard to take. And I cannot stand Michael Mustow--he went beyond the pale in his "satire" about Carrie Prejean, which was better suited to a comedy club of like-minded folks. I think Miss Carrie is unbelievably ridiculous, but talking about her having a penis cut off and an adam's apple sanded off was not cool.

he makes me laugh out loud.

Rachel is smart and doesn't let anyone get away with anything.

Ed is too loud for my taste, but I sometimes watch him, anyway. Not often, though.

29. I enjoy Keith
but don't watch the other shows. I really don't watch my "TV" much right now, though I TIVO everything and watch it later on the computer. I have season passes for all the shows I normally watch, and don't have time to watch much of anything else. Keith was part of the reason I managed to keep sane under W. The other was Jon Stewart. I catch them online, if nothing else.

30. Other: No longer can afford Cable...
However I do try to watch clips online from time to time. Especially since both of them are great at knocking major issues out of the park. Rachel with the Cure Gays guy and Keith's HC special comment (as well as the segment where he destroyed the liberal media myth) those were must see no matter what media format you had access to.

31. I like those shows, but only watch them on occassion
Honestly, sometimes after work I just want to watch the NHL.

But I will catch Keith and Rachel once or twice a week. I am really impressed with how bright Maddow is. She brings up a lot of things that I would never notice on my own.

Keith is just funny, to me anyway. Bright too, but I just enjoy his sarcasm.

I grew up with Ed, he was the sportscaster in my hometown. I'm just kind of tired of him. But I do enjoy his radio show at times.

32. I enjoy their commentary, but always remember their boss fired Donahue
Which is to say, K, R & Ed are being temporarily allowed to voice their views accordingly, but as soon as Big Brother needs greater FEAR clampdown, guess whose voices will likely be 'disappeared?' ...or at least marginalized, and told by higher ups to 'tone it down.'

TELLING/YELLING at me what to think. I can think/learn about/discover things on my own ~ as can everyone else. That's where the *fun* is ~ learning/discovery about this wonderful world ~ there is so much more to learn about than our fra8l human bodies could ever put up with!

Oh, but it's *grand* how 'beautifully and wonderfully* we ALL have been made/created.

38. Big fan.
Catch a couple hours a day among Keith, Rachel, and Tweets, who, although a crappy moderate for the most part, does have a lively and informative political variety show. I hardly watch Ed--his redneck manner is offputting to me. I should probably give him more of a try though, because for one thing he gets a lot of guests none of the others do.
