Federal Poverty Guidelines (HHS), 2009 - 2010
Edited on Tue Dec-29-09 07:27 PM by pinto
Much of the health care proposals refer to subsidies for individuals and families within certain income limits, based on the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).

5. Thanks for the post. Much of the detail of the proposals get lost in rhetoric and political spin.
I think folks may well have to find a position between politics and practicalities in this complicated set of proposals. And the process it entails. It's not an easy read, at all, or a clear call, imho.

I tend to look for what real-time benefits any of the proposals under consideration afford to us all, what unintended consequences they may incur, and how they may or may not be amendable down the road.

Eyes wide open, I encourage Democrats to advocate for the best bill we can get out of conference. Let your representatives know your point of view. And go from there.

6. $22,000 for a Family of 4...!!!??
Sheesh! If I could BE SO LUCKY!!!

I have never made more than $16K ...and that's for a "good" year with steady work making $12.50 and hour as a receptionist.
Last year we didn't even break $9K ... and that was before I applied for foodstamps!

My folks have been helping us, but not THAT much...thank goodness we have some help with HUD housing...
but as a single mom of 3 kids... times aren't just tough NOW...they HAVE BEEN for quite some time!
