George Clooney Goes Political Again
From NY Magazine:

Clooney Goes Political Again: Warner Brothers will remake documentary Our Brand Is Crisis as a dark comedy, with George Clooney potentially directing story of James Carville's consulting firm and their impact on the 2002 Bolivian election. Carville will be played by Skeletor.

Original article in Variety:

As with any Smoke House project, "Crisis" is a potential directing and starring vehicle for Clooney.

Warners and Smoke House, based at the studio, intend to reimagine Boynton's film -- about the dangers of "exporting" American democracy -- as a dark comedy.

"Crisis" is a behind-the-scenes look at the Bolivian presidential election of 2002, when candidate Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada (aka Goni) hired James Carville's Washington, D.C.-based political consulting firm Greenberg Quinlan Rosner to help him win. Goni's poll numbers were dismal, with Bolivians accusing him of being too closely aligned with U.S. interests.

Employing the same tactics they do in the U.S., Carville -- who himself flew in -- and his team used focus groups, sloganeering and smear tactics. Goni won by a narrow margin, but the work had only just begun for Carville's team. Bolivia descended into crisis under Goni's rule, and he was ultimately forced to resign.

2. But it's being remade as a scripted "black comedy." I think it could have lots to
say about our political system.

11. I wonder if Dem powerstructure will now try to convince us that Clooney is a 'conspiracy theorist'
too, just as others have received that treatment when they point out all the 'coincidences' that exist.

It must have been archived or something but I did a search.

Well worth the read.

Damn Carville anyway. He tried to bring down a good man right after we won the election.

Good for Clooney. That should fun to watch.

8. Oh, my!
And what do these guys deserve? Well, you tell me. The first shot is of a riot in the streets of Bolivia where a body lies dead, oozing blood. Pretty much moments later, a guy named Tad (no shit) Devine is standing on a Bolivian street corner wearing a sweater vest, talking into a cell phone and saying stuff like “This is the frame — we can brand crisis.” Now, you don’t have to be an acid bitch like me to realize that at this point you are now dealing with a comedy, and your job for the next 90 minutes is to completely savage these guys.

due to some early bad and NAIVE decisions on their part.

And now they are stuck.

Yet some people dismiss it all as mere 'conspiracy theory' when the preponderance of the evidence is stacking up that it is much more than coincidence.

Whom does the biographer think his subject will pick as a running mate? Not Hillary Rodham Clinton. "There's really two different Democratic parties right now: there's the Clintons

and Terry McAuliffe and the DNC and then there's the Kerry upstarts. John Kerry had one of the great advantages in life by being considered to get the nomination in December. He watched every Democrat in the country flee from him, and the Clintons really stick the knife in his back a bunch of times, so he's able to really see who was loyal to him and who wasn't. That's a very useful thing in life."

14. If Clooney does it, the evil underbelly of political operations may get noticed.
People can begin to see how some of the characters involved are all working to manipulate and manage perceptions from left and right to benefit the same powerstructure.

12. James Carville is a neoliberal.
He is not a leftist at all. Of course he would push the economic "Washington consensus" on a third world Latin American country.
