2. Forget the blankets, you're not even allowed to MOVE in that last hour
Try to put a fire out without moving, eh?

9. Not only that, it will kill people in a crash landing situation.
Having a full bladder on impact is yet another way to not survive.

27. I just asked my husband how many airline seats are going to be ruined
before the airlines consider this a bad policy.

It's going to happen. The question is, how many, and will the passenger be billed for the expense of a seat after he or she was not allowed to use the restroom?

8. Park a man long enough....
he could pee on the fire from seven rows back, especially after a trans-Atlantic flight.

5. According to this account
it is ONLY for international flights coming to the US:

Passengers flying into the United States from abroad should expect additional security measures at U.S. and international airports, the Transportation Security Administration said Saturday.

These will include increased pat-downs and gate screening, as well as having to stow carry-ons and personal items, including pillows.

"We ask that passengers follow the instructions of international security and flight crews," the TSA said.

26. Ah, but they already have rules
that say you cannot read your Kindle when the plane is under 10,000 feet.

Anybody know of a plane that crashed because a low-power device was being used? I didn't think so.

28. I leave my ipod on during takeoffs and landings. I don't feel very dead, so I'm thinking it's okay.

All those little gizmos have an FCC notice on them that says they don't interfere with other electronic devices. If the FAA doesn't buy that, they can call up the FCC and have a little chat, in the meantime I'm sticking with what the experts and common sense say about the subject.

10. And what exactly are they going to do if there is a similar
situation 5 minutes BEFORE that 1 hour to land mark? Totally ban blankets and pillows from the minute wheels go up? Guess what, they just gave would be terrorists heads up to do whatever it is they are going to do with a frigging blanket BEFORE that "1 hour" deadline.
What's next, stripping infants of their baby blankets before they board??

12. Actually this will just be an excuse
for the airlines to stop supplying and then having to keep pillows and blankets on board. And they will not allow passengers to bring their own.

17. What will they do about nursing mothers?
There will be people howling if they don't cover themselves, the airlines will snatching away the whatever they're trying to use as cover - and then maybe telling them not to feed the baby and the rest of us will be hollering about hungry infants screaming.

24. Tell your baby it has to eat before the hour before you land or it
will just need to wait. That's reasonable....right??

23. I recently took a 6 hour flight to Maui...No blankets or pillows provided
You could buy a thin rolled up blanket and a crappy inflatable pillow for $7.00.
I don't remember them asking for them to be surrendered before landing.

29. He COVERED himself with blanket
so he could set up weapon unseen. Makes sense to me.

Worst part seems to be what DIDN'T occur at departing airport.
