Poll question: So, What will be Gonzo's Ultimate Fate?
He is STILL in power, and has Not resigned.
And today the shrub said he still has confidence in him.
So, what does everyone think will actually happen?

(I posted this in GD:P last Friday, thinking a resignation might be imminent. Didn't happen. Posting in GD now for more traffic.)

3. Right now, I honestly don't know. I hear people like Doris Kerns
Goodwin when she says "sometimes when you're the President you HAVE to desert your friends for the sake of the Country." I've heard many others say Gonzo should resign to help the Prez out of a very bad situation. I don't know if Gonzo would do that or not. i also don't think there's any way to tell if Shrub will fire him. After all, few believed he'd ever get rid of Rummy!

I also am torn between hoping Gonzo hangs around and helps destroy the rest of the admin, and seeing him go to get anouther piece of dirt out of the admin.

4. It's better for Dems if he stays.
Just look at all the Repubs who want him gone--because he's hurting their party every day that his face is on TV. And anyway, who would * replace him with--anybody decent? Nope. Since nobody is dying with this guy in place, I say let him stay and be a black stain on their party. It was different with Rummy--the stakes were higher--although more Americans are dying since the surge started--so we're not better off with Gates on that scale.

6. If Bush doesn't get the ax, neither will he.
Like someone else said, maybe it's for the best considering the bad press, but I'd like to think that the Justice Department has some important work to do prior to the demise of the Bush Presidency (no matter how it ends: Impeachment or in January 2009).

7. A combination of 1 & 2. Gonzo will go the way of Rummy. Bush was for him b4 he was against him.

9. They Won't Win
In the long run, they will all be dicredited, dead and buried. Our job is to stop them in the short run, and deprive them of those liberties they hold so dear: rape, pillage and piracy.

10. Be Patient, The Next Shoe Will Drop Real Soon
I am convinced that New Mexico U.S. Attorney David Iglesias went to the FBI after being contacted by Senator Pete V. Domenici. Alberto Gonzoles and Karl Rove suspect that he did. That is the reason Gonzoles's memory was very sketchy and why Rove doesn't want to testify. Its also very possible that Monica Goodling was contacted by the FBI. She may have been offered a deal by the FBI that she would keep her salary if she refused to testify and submitted her resignation. Watch to see if she is called to testify. If the Senate does not request her presence, its a good bet that the Committee chairs have been approached by the FBI as well.
Stay Tuned.
