There are a lot of moms and dads deployed overseas that won't be with their loved ones this season. I think we can all imagine how lonely that must feel."

To which I replied: "On our local TV news they show clips of our troops overseas sending holiday greetings to friends and family back here at home. Most of those brave troops have to be in Iraq and Afghanistan WITHOUT their families."

I mailed Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders calendars to fifteen Texas soldiers and Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan, and I despise the Cowboys AND their cheerleaders. Now THAT is thanking them.
