A bit more, which I posted elsewhere (in another forum)...

What happens if we KILL THE BILL...is the "alternative" (i.e., NO HEALTH CARE REFORM) acceptable?

IMO: yes, it is a far better alternative than is the Senate's proposed "reform". On the surface, they make it sound terrific (for example: no more preexisting condition "denials"). But the bill does NOTHING about containing "COSTS" (just like the current failed system, which is bankrupting America).

If they don't want to put REAL REFORM and REAL COMPETITION in place... then it is far better to have EVERY AMERICAN simply CANCEL their health insurance! Then, if/when one needs medical care... simply goto any GOV'T subsidized facility and get medical care... no need to goto just any old FOR-PROFIT facility... simply seek out a gov't subsidized facility (one only need enter their ZIP CODE, to find such facilities in their locale).

This approach would cause an immediate CRISIS, and initiate the REAL REFORM (and likely a SINGLE PAYER system)... if everyone REFUSES to buy insurance from, and be treated by, "FOR-PROFIT" companies/facilities! Radical? ubetcha!

But it works that way NOW... for those UNINSURED, with no means/assets to make payments, and they GET THE CARE THEY NEED (I know this for a fact)!

"Hey. I've got a great idea!
Lets FORCE every American to BUY an invisible product every year
from a For Profit Corporation
that manufactures NOTHING,
and creates NO wealth!

AND, we can use the IRS as the Collection Agency!!!!

The Republicans could NEVER get away with something like THAT!

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!"

12. I'm afraid it's a done deal.
The electorate will have the health care bill they deserve.

Maybe there will be some improvement in the House/Senate version.

There's always 2010 and 2012.

14. "I'm afraid it's a done deal." nothing is a done deal, until the POTUS signs it into law
In addition to signing petitions such as this... I've already begun writing to the White House, asking OBAMA to not mistreat Americans so badly (i.e., time for his first VETO, if the bill doesn't contain a PUBLIC OPTION).

15. I'm doing the same
but I'm still afraid it's a done deal.

I've written letters, and I've made calls, and I'll keep doing it.

The POTUS seems very happy with the bill, willing so signed anything labeled HCR, it seems.

When HCR is added to all the other things Obama is doing, it seems 2012 is really the only option.

17. 2012 and 2014 will be big for Republicans after the HC"R" Bill
I don't gamble but I'd bet on that! This isn't "Reform" at all, and all the center Dems here will be eating their own flames.

18. Agreed. This health care "reform" is going to haunt those who
voted for it, and probably the party in general.

The party is abandoning progressives.

19. "I'm doing the same... but I'm still afraid it's a done deal."
The Senate may think it has successfully pulled the wool over our eyes... but, there are still progressive members in the HOUSE, and they've made a commitment to having a strong public option (or they will kill it).

DO NOT stop writing and calling, my friend... it ain't over (even though the Senate might think it is)! :hippie:
