6. They have that power

But they won't do it based on ideology.

if the debtor holders are better served by selling stations thats what they will do.

If the debtors are better served by reorganizing debt then they do that.

May very well be a combination of both.

Odds are its a reorganization. Sell a few stations, restructure some debt, but continue doing business.

9. Clear Channel's Creditors Consider Them In Default
http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20091218-705612.html

Because they're trying to raise money via bonds right now.

These corps bought up properties, then slashed budgets for programming and invested heavily in automated delivery, all the while making themselves irrelevant.

Sticks ought to be selling at fire sale prices right now, but the corps are sitting on them. The latest scheme I've seen is they want to go HD and lease side channels to independent programmers. Like, anyone is going to be able to make money in such a ridiculously diluted marketplace ...

10. I wish we had our "LOCAL" radio stations back...
local news, local commercials, community service programming designed to serve the community of license....

Clear Channel owns all 5 radio stations in our town... the merchants HATE CLear Channel and refuse to advertise, we get NO local news and NO local programming.

Tell me again how this is good?
