You Want to Fight This Bill, Cancel Your Insurance
If you've got the money, just deposit it in some sort of tax free insurance account, pay less taxes.

If they pass it, just don't buy insurance, as Keith Olbermann suggests.

If you own a business, cancel your insurance.

The only way we'll ever get single payer, with the insurance companies so in control, is to cut off their money, slash their profits, and to do that, we need to cancel the policies and keep your money at home.

Sure, you're going naked. But at some point, if we all do that, something has to break. Hopefully, it won't by a bone on your body. But our progenitors have done dangerous things for decades to get ahead, and stupidity has taken us back to the days of the Robber Barons, along with a media that spans from center-right, to extreme fascist insane asylum.

1. I wouldn't suggest this for everyone, particularly those with children,
but if you're in the right situation, do it.

3. It would be better if this was done en mass as a type of boycott campaign
If just a few people do it, they may end up simply cutting off their nose to spite their faces.

4. Just wondering
how many folks have already dropped their insurance because they couldn't afford it. Not even COBRA.

8. My wife & Iwill lose our insurance after January and I won't be
able to afford COBRA. If i had not had it over the last couple of years, I would probably be blind now. Also, I had back surgery without which I could have ended up paralyzed. Thank goodness I got all of that stuff taken care of, but what next?

5. That's the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard.
Nobody with kids is going to cancel their insurance. Nobody being treated for a chronic health condition is going to cancel their insurance.

7. I believe it's the only way but most people need something to fall back on.
What if activists pooled the money they would spend on insurance and formed a non-profit to compete with the insurance companies? I wish someone had the experience to do it and I fantasize that some sugar daddy multi-billionaire would put up the seed money. Then real competition could be offered and people could cancel their insurance and join up in the new company. I believe, for the non-insured, cheaper rates could be offered too and if there are subsidies in the bill, people maybe could take advantage of them. The bottom line is we do have to run these criminals out of business before any meaningful reform can be achieved.
