THE BIG LIE !
"I won't raise taxes" that is what we heard and that is what we voted for.

Now we are getting ready to pass health care reform with MANDATORY Health Insurance for ALL Americans. !

Assuming this is even constitutional, This is nothing more than an INSURANCE TAX.

Therefore "I will not raise taxes" was A BIG LIE !

Obama will never live down the damage from the new tax on American Citizens.

2. I agree, and it will be a disaster for the Democratic Party.
Polls show a majority of Americans oppose the individual mandate. This is a terrible piece of legislation, and the Democratic Party will (rightly) be punished for it by the electorate if it passes.

Kill the bill.

Forcing people to buy insurance is no more the answer to a failed health care

system than forcing people to buy houses is the solution to homelessness.

7. The really sad thing about Obama when he is making statements -
Edited on Sat Dec-19-09 04:06 PM by truedelphi
Whenever he opens his mouth he is either

1) lying

2) obfuscating

He started off telling the truth about Health Care Reform.

When running for the Illinois Senate back in 2004, he said "The only logical effective way to reform the Health Care System is to have Universal Single Payer HRC. And what we need to have happen is to vote in Democratic PArty Majorities in the Senate and the House, and put a Democrat in the White House."

But by Dec 2007, Jan 2008, he scrapped that truthful talking point for this obfuscation "Although Single Payer Universal Health Care would be the best solution if we were starting from scratch, since we already have a system that we must stay inside, we need to reform the system from within it."

There is no logic to that statement. Either the system is broken, and we need reform, or the system is fine and we don't need to worry about it.

But if we do need reform than the only way to get it is to work for the real solution.

Without totally scrapping the health care system we have, we end up with he hugely inflated profits on basic services. And that part alone makes anything this Administration and Congress comes up with ineffective.
