ok - now I'm starting to get a little
pissed.

Health care "reform"?? What I'm seeing a laughable joke that will help few, if any. Except, of course, those people making MONEY off of it.

Copenhagen - need I say more? Sounds like a sell-out to me that doesn't aggressively address the issue. The world - planet - needs aggressive approaches to halting and reversing the problems.

Where's the strong leader I was expecting? The one who was going to GET THINGS DONE without selling out. Who was going to represent the will of the people who elected him and not pander to the f'ing politicians who only care about their own pocketbooks and power.

Same-sex marriage
DODT revoked
Health Care
Economic recovery
Poverty
Education
Pollution
Global warming
Jobs
Halting the exponential growth of the increasing gulf between the have and the havenots.

WTF? I mean, really. What gives? I have waited and withheld judgement and criticism but I'm getting a little damn tired of waiting. Time is running out for a whole lot of people. If something doesn't happen soon - really soon - that number will include me.

Maybe we'll all agree on something after all...

5. No mzteris I'm not happy, haven't been for a long time.
The Bush years killed whatever idealism I had left. Bush was easy to hate and there was always the unspoken promise that once we
took control of the government our hopes for this country would be realized. At the very least we would hold the criminals accountable,
we would bring our armed forces home, regulate Wall Street, create the social programs to care for those at risk and those devastated
by years of economic tyranny. I didn't expect this to all happen in a few short months, but I did expect to see the foundation laid so
these goals could be achieved. Unfortunately the writings on the wall. The wars are escalating, the corporations are still in their glory days
and the man I put so much faith in is not who he promised he'd be. Slowly I'm moving from disillusionment and sadness to a place of anger.
Gotta keep our heads about us, but we have to fight back. The one thing they have always been able to count on is our apathy. Our willingness
to be pacified by the next hollow promice, the use of mind numbing entertainment and a propaganda news media to keep us weak,
disorganized and alienated from each other. No, I'm not happy.

7. So far a pretty disappointing presidency.
But of course it hasn't been a year yet so we have to reserve judgment. :sarcasm:

I wonder what the excuse will be to defend Obama after Jan 20th 2010.

8. It takes time to move a big ship...
Somebody needs to tell Obama that he actually needs to move the fucking rudder to change the direction of the ship, otherwise he will still go in a right hand circle like he did his first year.

Obama: Gave the American People the Health Care Reform the Insurance Industry and Republicans wanted.

10. Obama is going to be a one-term loser, and with any luck...
the end of 90's-style, DLC politics.

Any future con-men will look at him and-- hopefully-- read the message correctly. Shit on your base and lose.
