3. you left out
the constant sales ads that aren't the reason for the season but they go on and on.

Feed the hungry and bring the troops home.

Peace

Ya know, it would not be bad at all to actually have the holiday celebrated as a Son of God birth and a reason to help your neighbor. What sucks is how it's devolved into super saturdays, black fridays and never ending after fuckingxmas sales.

Sorry, I got carried away.

5. Displays going up before Halloween!
I've watched this season creep from just after T'giving til stores have employees stocking Halloween & Christmas items at the same time. I'm so over Christmas by the time we get to T'giving.
I'm sure if I live that long I'll see Christmas displays being set up next to the 4th of July displays as it creeps forever backward along the calendar.

13. At my store, we usually have a small table of Christmas stuff as early as mid-SEPTEMBER.
After Halloween, a few more are added, and then the week of Thanksgiving (but not after), the Christmas decorations for the store go up and the music goes on.

And our Christmas cards arrive in the store from Hallmark in JULY, we just wait a few months before putting them out for sale.

18. My point exactly.
I know there's not a thing you can do about it. Stores do what they want. But by December 1st I'm so burned out on Christmas I don't want to see anything associated with the holiday.

He is the opposite of the true Christmas Spirit -- absolutely Hideous in his devious divisiveness.

And good luck with "no presents". Some asshole 3rd cousin on your husbands mother's aunt's side that you never talk to and see once a year for 2 hours at the obligatory inlaw family gig will show up with some piece of crap made in china bubble bath set that smells like skunk pee and then badmouth you for the next 20 years because you didn't even have the courtesy to drop by the dollar store and buy them a piece of shit made in bangladesh screwdriver set that doesn't fit any screw known to man.

12. The blatant falsehood that jesus was born in December, or
that a pagan solstice celebration has anything to do with his birth.

Or, frankly, with the Christian faith at all.
