1. it's what they used to call a dog and pony show
do you realize that at the dinner parties they will throw to celebrate the insurance handout, they will eat and drink better than most americans? and it will be provided to them for free.

3. It still has to go to the house again, and then back to the senate, no?
or does it go straight from reconciliation to the president?

It if goes back to the senate, it will probably be scuttled..

4. Pelosi won't change a thing
She's under the gun from the WH and she's pretty much indicated she's on board. We're screwed.

7. Last week, they were talking about "moving the bill" out of the senate
back to the house for reconciliation, and how the house still had hopes of reworking it..

maybe they decided not to.

8. Oh, I thought you meant reconciliation to avoid a fillibuster (i.e., to need only a 51 vote majority

9. Do I Have This Correct?
The law that the Senate will pass will have the following provisions:

1. Everyone must be have health insurance.

2. Anyone who does not have health insurance will have to pay a fine.

3. Anyone who has a decent health insurance plan (the kind negotiated by unions, for instance) will have to pay an additional tax because they have a decent plan.

4. The only plans available for people under 65 are from for-profit corporations.

Is that correct?

Because if it is, it seems to me that this plan does little more than make most of us slaves to Big Insurance Corporations!

and of course your boss will report what your coverage is "worth", and remind you that "your share" is not nearly enough, and how those "older folks" at work are driving up his costs (and yours):puke:
