America's Santas Hearing Many Tales of Woe This Year :-((((((
Edited on Fri Dec-18-09 10:33 AM by CoffeeCat
I was shocked to see our local CBS affiliate in Des Moines, report that Santa Claus is hearing many requests from
kids--for food, jobs and pleas to remain in their homes. This Santa was located at an upscale mall, surrounded by
several affluent suburbs in Des Moines.

When I tried to find the video on Google, I found that that many Santas around the country are reporting the same thing.
Kids are asking for basic necessities, such as food and clothing--and telling Santa about their family's financial
troubles and asking Santa to bring jobs to their family.

Link to Wall Street Journal Article, and interactive map. You can click on different parts of the country to read about
what Santas around the country are hearing. All are hearing the same sad requests.

Same story in Denver:
Kids Asking Santa For Food, Not Toys
"This year, for the first time, I had several kids ask for food. Food for their grandparents, food for their family," he said. "It just broke my heart."

1. Sorry kids.
All that money that could help your family is going to fund a war, half way across the world. But don't worry your little hearts! In a few years you will be old enough to enlist & then you'll have food, shelter & healthcare(!) & you can send your paycheck home to Mom.

Do I really need this? :sarcasm:

K&R for the sorry reality that this country has become.

2. The front page of our local paper
ran a story like this from a local santa and also had an article about a man who was arrested after throwing his daughter's new puppy on the ground and killing it. Seems this time of the year brings out the worst and the best in people.
