Dear Mr. President, it's time to get rid of Rahm Emmanuel.
Please, sir, it's time to cut him loose.
He is not serving you well, and is at the heart of turning your base against you.
I want you to succeed. I want real health care reform. And so do millions of others.
Don't you understand? You have to throw us a bone. You have to at least appear that you're listening to us, and, for heaven's sake, act like you intend to fulfill your campaign promises.
We worked hard to elect you, not Rahm.

And while you're at it, it's time to get rid of "Don't ask, don't tell" once and for all. Include that in your new war... maybe we'll cut you a break.

Thank you.

4. You know, it would be a smart move
even if Rahm isn't the culprit.

6. Rahm is a symptom, not the cause.
You think Obama'd pick him without knowing exactly what he was getting?

7. I don't see why Rahm Emmanuel should be fired. He has been a catastrophic
failure at his job. Doesn't that mean he should get a 70 million dollar bonus and a promotion?

12. If he were a republican, sure.
For dems, it's the "Visiting Professor" or MSNBC "strategist."

14. We don't need someone like Karl Rove
Lying, deceiving, covering, disinforming, misdirecting, and creating policy behind the scenes to benefit a handful of greedy, self-serving fucks who have already lined their pockets with tax dollars we don't even have.

Democracy is about WE THE PEOPLE -- we the people whose voice is being totally and completely ignored right now.

15. Rahm is serving his function if we think the problem is one person who can be fired.
You can't fire the side of Obama that hired him in the first place. That's what Rahm is there to deflect from.

20. It has turned into the Rahm administration
Truth be told.

here's a page from Realpolitik 101:

Obama's unwritten job description is more or less limited to making nice speeches and acting as the PR person, alongside Gibbs. because Rahm is pretty much unelectable (as were Rove and Cheney) so you need a good PR person like Obama to act as the frontman. that's basically the job of the president and there isn't much more to it.

26. He's the spokesmodel and head cheerleader
for the the democratic party...not unlike how George Bush played the part of the goofy but charasmatic PR man and mascot for the GOP.

24. Yep that sums it all up.
Obama is the presentable face, the personable warm and fuzzy spokesman.

But the policy is still about eating our babies and raping our puppies so that the Corporate Persons can get happier, fatter and more bloated than ever.

25. Amen
just like Bill Clinton and George Bush before him. and even before that, it was Reagan playing the part of the warm and fuzzy spokesman for Bush senior, who was about as electable as Skeletor.
