Retirees and spouses of high level politicos working for Private Military Contractors.
Check out this story at cryptome. Some dude working for a lawyer exposes the connection between Private Military Contractors and the CIA. It ain't a revolving door folks, it's an open air atrium and everyone is tending their gardens under one roof.

Kenneth Donohue, Inspector General of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, his wife is involved in training operatives for PMCs like MPRI.

President Bush nominated Kenneth M. Donohue and was later confirmed by the U.S. Senate on March 25, 2002.

While awaiting Senate confirmation, the World Trade Center and Pentagon were attacked and - given his expertise - HUD Secretary Mel Martinez asked Mr. Donohue to pitch in and assess HUD security overall, specifically focusing on emergency programs; vulnerability; Information Technology security; and mail procedures, among others.

Mr. Donohue had a distinguished 21-year career with the U.S. Secret Service as a special agent, culminating with the Assistant Director's staff assigned to the CIA's Counter-Terrorism Center. Mr. Donohue had a diverse career within the Investigation Division. In addition, he served with the Presidential Detail and two tours with the Protective Intelligence Division.

Also the wife of Brigadier General Earnest O. Robbins, USAF, he was the Air Force Civil Engineer

And then there is this guy, who used to work for the Office of the SecDef.

Arthur E. Fajans is Deputy Director, Security Policy, in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He recently completed the Foreign Service Institute's Executive Seminar on National and International Affairs at the Department of State. Mr. Fajans joined the office of the Secretary of Defense in 1973 and has served as Acting Director, Information Security Acting Chairman, National Disclosure Policy Committee, U.S. Representative to the NATO Security Committee, and with Defense Public Affairs as the Freedom of Information Staff Specialist. Mr. Fajans also has been employed by the Navy Department and the Defense Intelligence Agency.

1. Everyone, please recommend this.
This problem exists everywhere. I think it's obvious there's scam potential here. Anyone who makes it to city office ends up getting a real estate license, or his or her spouse does. Something smells in Denmark.

3. Corruption and outright deceptions.
Let's face it people. Companies like Blackwater, MPRI and Armorgroup ARE the Federal Government.

6. I'm worried about the prison industry...
in the same vein.

I think corporations feel the only way they can compete with cheap labour in suppressed countries is by prison labour...probably the population outside of prison can't be suppressed enough. I wonder how many "law and order" citizens have a thumb in prison administration...for the same reason, profiting off of labour by defining the contracts.

7. Sure, just outsource every thing.
Soon our military will be wearing this on their sleeve:

2. It's everywhere, it's incestuous. "Do you know who ***i*** am?" is an all too common refrain. NT

4. You know who is immune to this attitude?
Civil servants. No, really. I thought it was just me, but I found an old civil servant and we got to talking about how we encountered these southern types in the US who liked to drop their name and title like it was suppose to get them to the front of the line, and the guy told me that he responded just like me. He was raised on base and as a civil servant, he just didn't have the patience for generals who thought they were deserved superstar status.

Maybe that's why they came for the civil servant first?

8. So they say....but I dunno. I think I'd as soon do without the power than have
to live life with someone that I tolerated, or used, for the cash and clout. Or worse, to be on the other end of the spectrum, knowing that you get the pick of the litter only because you're stinking rich, and that individual flattering you like mad actually has one eye on the old bank balance...!
