Poll question: Who loves Christmas more, Christians or Capitalists?
The OP is aware of the possibility of overlap.

6. This poll is a good synopsis of my answer on another thread asking
if someone saying "Merry Christmas" was offensive to anyone. I said yes, not because of the Christian relationship but because Christmas as we know it today would make the person described in the bible as Jesus Christ furious, it's nothing but a joke as a holy-day.

7. To those of us who love Jesus Christ
it is the holiest of days. The money-changers in the temple have not changed much...

13. Easter is traditionally the more important day

Although the importance of Christmas as an event commemorating the incarnation is quite an old thing too.

14. There was more joy in His birth
than in His death for me. That I am shitty enough that He had to die for me sucks. That He loved me enough to do it, is a joyful miracle. But I much prefer the beautiful miraculous birth as a woman and mother...

8. The capitalists may have the volume ratcheted up to 11, but
...the Christians (at least the sincere ones) actually love the holiday more, and more deeply.

16. What's the consumer confidence level?
I think I'll have to give it to the Christians this year.
