ROFL..Alan Grayson on Tweety: I remember Bush Junior kissing Prince Abdullah on the cheek....
I *love* this guy, why can't other Dems be as proactive toward utter bullshit?

http://digbysblog.blogspot.com/

Matthews asked Alan grayson today about whether it was appropriate for Obama to bow to the Japanese Emperor:

What about Bush Junior? I remember Bush Junior kissing Prince Abdullah on the cheek, and then holding his hand for an extended period of time. Maybe if he'd let him get to second base, gasoline would be a dollar a gallon.

9. Try searching Snopes..
I did and there is no entry for "bush kiss abdullah", if the kiss was an urban legend I strongly suspect it would be in Snopes by now.

In fact there is only one entry for "bush abdullah" and it has to do with Obama rather than bushie..

14. I don't believe that's been photoshopped.
What is your assertion for believing that to be the case? Everything seems kosher to me. I'd be VERY surprised if it has been.

12. If we ever have a Progressive party in this country, it'll have to be stocked with guys like Grayson
I really think the antidote to right wing bullying is ridicule. Ridicule their lack of civility. Ridicule their comically bad reasoning. Their platform is built on fallacy upon fallacy--they're practically begging to be ridiculed! They're probably wondering why more Dems don't hit the meatballs they're throwing out of the park!

16. The kiss and hand holding have nothing to do with being gay..
And I think you know that..

It's all about culture, that's a common element of Arab culture and it's clear that bushie got a pass for following Arab cultural practices while Obama was roundly criticized for doing the same thing with Japanese cultural practices.

18. WTF?
You're gonna tell me Trent Lott's birthday comment was racist, but this kind of homophobic shit is ok?

19. I don't know anything about Trent Lott's comment..
I don't follow everything that happens, but Arab hand holding and kissing between men is heterosexual, not homosexual.

The point that Grayson was making and that you seem to have missed is that Obama has been roundly criticized for following Japanese cultural norms while bushie got a complete pass from the same people for following Arab cultural norms.

If you look at my previous posts you'll find I'm a huge critic of Rick Warren and Obama's putting him in his inauguration, sorry if this post or Grayson's comment upsets you but it was not my intent, nor do I think it was Grayson's intent, to be anti gay in any way.

15. They're going to be trying like hell to beat this guy next year,
but I suspect he will be re-elected handily, while a lot of the blue dogs will be out on their ass.

Maybe then what is left of the Democratic caucus will finally take the hint.

I think he has aspirations beyond representing Florida in the House.
