These 14 Senators are members of the DLC's New Democratic Coalition

The New Democrat Coalition was founded in 1997 by Representatives Cal Dooley (California), Jim Moran (Virginia) and Timothy J. Roemer (Indiana) as a congressional affiliate of the avowedly centrist Democratic Leadership Council, whose members, including former President Bill Clinton, call themselves "New Democrats." As of July 2009, the House New Democrats are chaired by Representative Joseph Crowley (New York), with Vice-Chairs Representatives Melissa Bean (Illinois), Ron Kind (Wisconsin), Allyson Schwartz (Pennsylvania) and Adam Smith (Washington), who also serves as chair of the group's political action committee.

The Senate New Democrat Coalition was founded in the spring of 2000 by Senators Evan Bayh (Indiana), Bob Graham (Florida), Mary Landrieu (Louisiana), Joe Lieberman (Connecticut), and Blanche Lincoln (Arkansas).<2>

Overview

The New Democrat Coalition was founded in 1997 by Representatives Cal Dooley (California), Jim Moran (Virginia) and Timothy J. Roemer (Indiana) as a congressional affiliate of the avowedly centrist Democratic Leadership Council, whose members, including former President Bill Clinton, call themselves "New Democrats." The Senate New Democrat Coalition was founded in the spring of 2000 by Senators Evan Bayh (Indiana), Bob Graham (Florida), Mary Landrieu (Louisiana), Joe Lieberman (Connecticut), and Blanche Lincoln (Arkansas).<2>

The NDC has worked to craft and pass legislation, including Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) for the People's Republic of China, fast track Trade Promotion Authority, digital signatures, and H-1B visa reform and continues to work on matters such as privacy, broadband, expanding e-learning opportunities and making government more accessible and efficient through the use of technology. Many in the Democratic Party's left-wing criticize the group, however, accusing it of ignoring social justice and the poor.

The NDC is a member of the Alliance of Democrats international; the Democratic Party as a whole does not participate in any internationals on account of its political divisions, but does permit its affiliated organizations to do so.

4. I'm not surprised by Dianne Feinstein.
I wonder if the next time she comes up for election if I can hold my nose and vote for her against a Republican like I have with what seems like my whole life. I don't think so, next time.

6. So within the DLC, there is a New Democrat Coalition? NDC? There are millions of Democrats who

don't even know that there is a DLC. If I am trying to conduct a rant or teach someone that there is a nasty split in the Democratic Party - do I call them the DLC or NDC?

Was Gore a part of the DLC in 2000?

I thought John Edwards was not in the DLC in 2004.

I didn't know that John Kerry's membership was this solid? Was it this solid in 2004?

I was positive that Joe Biden was in the DLC?

Is it still true that Obama wasn't a member of the DLC/NDC or whatever it is.

Is there a heirarchy for the DLC?

The women in the DLC disgust me - the only way to stay nice about it is to say that they are NOT peacemakers and are best friends of the Republicans.

The votes for the Iraq invasion and every vote that came up after stands out here.

The vote for torture stands out here.

The vote for the Patriot Act stand out here.

The vote for spying on us stands out here.

The vote to concede stands out here.

The vote to screw up Florida and Michigan stands out here.

They have been playing us for fools.

Are we sure that they are not steering the Republicans?

I don't think I can take anymore of this. I am so stressed and depressed because of DLC Democrats and what they are doing to this country.

All I can say is NO MORE VOTES or anything else for the DLC. No votes for any Republicans either - never.

Time to move to the Independent Party. Perhaps Russ Feingold can lead it.

These people are mis-spending the money Democrats gave them, Democrats who thought they were voting for Democrats all these years. They were voting for shadow Republicans. Traitors.

What was it that Hillary Clinton spoke about when she met with Murdoch?

Yes, the women here are particularly insulting for me. Notice how every once in awhile they raise their voice up about one of our favorite issues and then poof - back to the destruction of the Democrats.

Listen everyone - they pulled away from us. We didn't pull away from them. Obviously, they are making plenty - they don't need anything from us. There are NOT 60 seats in the Democratic Party.

Stressed. Depressed. I hope I didn't depress anyone else.

RUSS FEINGOLD FOR PRESIDENT. A special thank you/thank you prayer for all our leaders who make sense and who remain moral, ethical, and loyal to their people and themselves.

To repeat - What is the heirarchy?

8. They had a website at one time that listed all their members.
I haven't visited it for awhile so I don't know, but every time I did, I felt like I was reading stuff from the Heritage Foundation.
