Earth's future is in your hands (the BBC Game)
A game where you are president of the European Nations. You must tackle climate change and stay popular enough with the voters to remain in office.

BBC Climate Change Game

Very cool... try it out.

3. Interesting.
I played it about 10 times.

1st time, I got voted out of office before the end of the game. Public opinion can change on an issue from one round to the next.

Don't hesitate to use the "spin policies" card. It'll save you!

On the one hand, I learned that it can be done. I actually got my carbon emissions to a negative number. Maybe that's a programming error. AND the policies that cut emissions the most (with the least expense or reaction from the voters) are in the HOUSEHOLD category.

But although I learned I could maintain a 90% popularity and meet all my targets, I ALWAYS had a very poor economy, or "wealth" indicator. Once it was 4%!!

It makes me wonder if there aren't biased economic assumptions that fail to account for jobs CREATED by alternative fuel initiatives?
