I don't like to watch television news or opinion shows, haven't for over 15 years, but started to watch Rachel when her show began. I even wrote MSNBC to tell them how she'd brought me back to the tube. Buchanan, however, forced me away, and I wrote the station to inform them of that negative turn of events, as well. I'd sincerely like to learn they've jettisoned that racist prick. I might take to watching Rachel again if I knew my sensibilities weren't going to be assaulted by bigoted ignorance.

limbaugh is intuitive, but he;'s not particularly smart. maddow is very smart. she also has a very different style than limbaugh.

if i was to compare her to somebody on the right, i guess the closest would be medved. he is also extremely intelligent, doesn't yell or get all histrionic, etc. he doesn't have nearly as much charisma as she has, though.

She makes me proud. Aside from her more obvious wonders, I've never seen anyone deal with the transition to TV more gracefully and organically than Rachel, in many small ways I could see that she was aware of and learning to master all sorts of details that many take years to learn, and many more never really do because of ego issues. She is more natural and relies on far less artifice than almost anyone I've ever seen in news or commentary, and rarely in television as a whole medium.
She has chops of many flavors, she is Madame Skill.

like Rachel or Ed Schultz get onto a corporate media gig. Thank goodness that Rachel seems to be able to be her wonderful, progressive self no matter what.
