SWAT Team Takes Down Man Armed With LEGO Gun
SWAT Team Takes Down Man Armed With LEGO Gun

According to the National Post, a Toronto man who happens to be a big LEGO fan, was working in a downtown office on Friday when the replica gun made from LEGO that he’d ordered from online retailer BrickGun arrived. He assembled the model and later closed his office door for a conference call and that’s when someone who could see in his window from a neighboring building called police to report lone man sitting in an office with a gun.

The SWAT team was dispatched and the incident ended with the man cuffed against a wall while six officers armed with assault rifles and shotguns secured the LEGO. Fortunately, no-one was injured and there are no charges pending, but consider it a lesson about what can go wrong when LEGO is put to more nefarious use. Maybe stick to the Star Wars sets next time.

they did the right thing. As a parent having stepped on those lego blocks, I can vouch for their lethal abilities.

11. They're potentially lethal when they're just lying on the floor!
When my kids were young, a stray Lego escaped the nightly clean-up in the living room. The next morning, I was uncharacteristically padding around barefoot and stepped on that Lego - right on my instep. Of course, the initial pain was excruciating, but I sported a Lego-shaped bruise - complete with the little round holes - for about two weeks afterward. I also had pain in that tendon for several more months. A 'lump' is attached to that tendon to this very day - some 20+ years later. In addition to making me a more thorough Lego picker-upper, it also made me more likely to wear socks - if not shoes - at all times around the house.

17. been there...
It is amazing that more kids aren't hurt by those things. They are freaking sharp!! I guess it is different when it is a couple hundred pounds coming down on about 2 inches of sharp rigid plastic though.

The neighbor held a sign up in the window saying "sorry, it looked real". At least everybody could laugh about it and move on. Here in the USA there would be lawsuits getting filed...

And then off next year to Iraq or Afghanistan.

He got injured this week during exercises at Ft Hood and needed stitches.

A huge collection of Nerf guns. :D Most of them, fortunately, look nothing like the real thing.

But at least some of them are actually valuable. Dot-com stock? Not so much.
