Poll question: Alan Grayson: Trend or Talker?
I'm borrowing Dylan Ratigan's segment where he discusses whether new things on the radar signify a trend or whether they're a talker for the water cooler crowd.

So, what do you think of Alan Grayson? Trend or talker?

1. I gotta go Talker. I like Grayson, but I seriously doubt he's "here to stay."
His district is mostly Republican, and he beat Ric Keller in the Democratic tidal wave of 2008 only after Keller had fought a vicious primary campaign. If the GOP gets a good candidate, I fear Grayson may be out as early as 2010.

3. Alan Grayson...Alan Grayson...didn't he win American Idol a couple years ago?
I keed, I keed.

I don't see Rep. Grayson as a trendsetter by any means, nor would I like to see others emulate his style. I think he's great for speaking truth to power, but it's wise to keep in mind that Democrats are held to a higher standard by repugs & the corporate media. Repugs can get by with uttering all manner of codswollop garnished with hyperbole, but when a Democrat uses exaggeration for dramatic effect, it's 'moonbat' time. Most of us here 'get' Alan Grayson, but after the corporate media have consulted the repugs for their talking points, he doesn't come off quite so well to the nation at large.

4. Other: he's an AIPAC tool
I was wary to call him a "tool" but it has a "T" in it and adds to the alliteration

6. He's saying all the right things. We'll see soon
It's too early to tell. It takes a while for someone to earn my trust.

7. team player
I'd wager he didn't think up this tactic on his own, he's playing a role in a larger operation.

8. Regardless of his future electoral success we need more Democrats who learn to communicate
in terms the public understands. You can talk all day long about 'bending the arc' or whatnot but everyone who heard Alan Grayson say the Republican plan is "Don't get sick" understood exactly what he meant.
