Why isnt Vince McMahon in Jail.
Edward Fatu has died at the age of 36 from a heart attack.
Another wrestlers to died who were employed by WWE over the years are.

Road Warrior Hawk
Yokozuna (34)
Test (33)
Earthquake (42)
Rick Rude (40)
Owen hart (34) - not really his fault!
Mr Perfect (44)
Miss Elizabeth (42)
Junk Yard Dog (45)
Hercules (47)
Eddie Guererro
Davey Boy Smith (39)
Crush (44)
Chris Benoit - took his wife and son with him
Big Boss Man (41)
Bam Bam Bigelow (45)
Andre The Giant (46)

You think legal action would be taken against Vince McMahon.

If a film director, wanted his actors to bulk up for a series of movies, and there ended up being this many deaths over the years, he would be had up in court.

Why not Vince??

2. For the same reason the NBA's David Stern isn't.
Edited on Sun Dec-06-09 08:33 PM by TexasObserver
Their job is to sell entertainment.

That pro wrestlers take steroids and other things bad for them is not news. That the NBA uses its officials to manipulate games, to sell players and products, is not news, either. WWF or NBA, there isn't a lot of difference, except one is more obvious and has fewer rules of conduct.

I'm not taking up for McMahon, just showing he's another charlatan snake oil salesman, like Stern over at the NBA.

36. Minor threadjack - last night's 60 Minutes with that ref Donaghy broke my heart
I have been a proud and devoted fan of the NBA for over 20 years.

Last night's interview on 60 Minutes makes me feel that the NBA might as well be the WWE.

It was real to me, dammit.

51. He said he wouldn't be able too when asked if he could prove it
However there was one thing that particularly struck me. I forgot what it was but it was something about an exchange with Charles Barkley baffling stuff. Anyways he responded saying "That's BS". Say what you want about Barkley but he generally speaks the truth and doesn't pretend to be someone else and frankly I trust CB more then this guy.

What this does is there is referee in the NBA that goes by the name Bob Delaney. He wrote a book called "Covert" and it's very similar to Donnie Brasco(they actually crossed paths and didn't know each other was undercover at the time) and I actually enjoyed his story more then Donnie Brasco. Anyways he spent years risking his life infiltrating the mob doing honorable stuff there and I just can't help but think of him being tainted by this when he possibly may not deserve it. Sorry rambling. :)

57. You're not rambling; I read every word and like you I agree with Sir Charles often
Edited on Tue Dec-08-09 06:38 PM by catzies
Chuck is an awesome and very outspoken and (mostly) honest guy who always says what he thinks.

I remember Bob Delaney; didn't know he wrote a book so I will look for it.

This is just my personal bias talking; but after seeing the refs hand Jordan his 6th ring, and the infamous Sacramento-Los Angeles 2002 WCF series, and so many other examples I can't name off the top of my head, I guess I just want closure to the "We've been had" voice in my head.

I always thought the crookedest ref was Dick Bavetta anyway. When he was sent to ref a game 6 in a playoff series you knew the fix was in.

I'm still a broken-hearted fan who feels cheated.

58. He sure did seem to have a case for the LA-Sac game
It was the exchanges between players(Barkley) and the inside league private of disciplining officials for not calling a game in their favor just seems far out there. OTL showed significant parts of the interview but whenever they were showing the highlights of the LA-Sac game while he was talking showed a somewhat convincing case but still lacking a smoking gun. I can see there may be some truth to what he is saying though.

They tried three times in the early 90's to bring him up on charges of both tax evasion and steroid charges and in 1994 he was put on trial for distributing steroids. Unfortunately the Feds were never able to make anything stick.

And since you feel the need to judge others, I assume your not very confidant or proud of them.

I agree with the OP, the fault lies on Vince. Yes, it is true some are not his fault but a lot of them are his fault. A wrestler cannot make enough money to support himself unless Vince will give him the "push" and to do that he must push himself over the edge. As much as I love pro-wrestling, I have not watched it in years because I cannot support something with this high if a cost.

This is also a business - while scripted - where

2. some of them are unhealthy to begin with - Fatu did weigh over 350 pounds; Andre the Giant had acromegaly, which he did not get treatment for

22. For what?
That list is pretty dishonest really. Andre the Giant died of a heart attack related to disease that made him so large. Yokozuna weighed 600 lbs. and died of heart failure. Earthquake died of cancer. You surely can't blame their deaths on Vince McMahon.

Some of the other ones are large men that had heart attacks. Others are people that abused illegal drugs which are expressly forbidden in their contracts.

27. I hate Vince.....
But in fairness.......the WWE ordered Fatu to rehab for "recreational" drugs and he refused. That is why he was released. Steroids were not his issue.

Also......Junkyard Dog died in a car crash when he fell asleep at the wheel driving home from his daughter's graduation years after he retired. Yokozuna battled weight problems his entire life, which killed him. Earthquake John Tenta died of cancer (bladder) that I don't think was related to steroids whatsoever. And finally, Andre had agromagelia, a thyroid condition that causes one to grow unusually large in the extremities and the heart.

If you are going to indict the guy, don't just post a list without some research.

55. Heres the deal
Lets use say Walmart for an example if a number of employees died at walmart over a period of a few years, people here would want walmart up in court.

The fact is, even though these guys might sign a contract saying they wont use drugs, Im sure
there is a hush hush wink wink thing going on.

If any business had this many deaths over a cetain time period there would be questions asked.

The fact is these guys are users, and they have been dying for entertainment purposes.
