So.....how do you do that?
I saw this on an unemployment forum:

I believe in keeping a positive sense of self, either in job interviewing or networking. Unemployment and difficulty in finding a new job could beat us down quite a bit. But keeping a positive sense of self will convey confidence, which is what employers want.

So, my question is, how?

(I'm employed now, thank goddess, but I've been unemployed and it sucks (as if anyone didn't know that).

1. Go to interviews for jobs you don't want. Turn one down.

2. Treat every interview like you are the interviewer deciding whether you want the job or not. n/t

3. There is more to life then a job
and trying to remember that is the trick.

When I was sick (disabled), I was very depressed because I was in so much pain that I prayed for death.
I tried to remember that people love me, I have interests, I can derive pleasure even though I am in extreme pain. It didn't always work.

Also,
try to remember that there are billions of people worse off then you are. When I was praying for death (due to physical pain) I was at least able to remember some times that I felt good and was happy. So people never get to feel those feelings.

Some people never have enough to eat. Some people are tortured by life in ways you and I can only imagine.

So use empathy to remember that it ain't all that bad. And in the end we all die and really what difference does it make if we die unemployed or if we die as a CEO?
