Moment of Silence to be observed at noon today in Ohio for VT victims
COLUMBUS – Gov. Ted Strickland has asked Ohioans to observe a moment of silence today to mourn those killed in the Virginia Tech shootings.

Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine has asked the nation’s governors join those mourning in his state over the deaths at the Blacksburg, Va., campus.

Ohioans are asked to pause for a moment of silence or to ring a bell at noon, Strickland said.

“Ohioans are grieving for the students and faculty members whose lives were tragically taken at Virginia Tech,” Strickland said. “I encourage everyone to take a few moments Friday at noon to offer their heartfelt prayers and support for the victims of this tragedy and their families.”

1. I don't have any problem with a moment of silence but we are getting carried away with these things
I don't want this to be a negative on today mourning and remembrance because it was sad. But we do this for so many tragedies big and small these days they are starting to become meaningless.
The flag has been at half staff more since the bu$h regime has been in office than the last 3 presidents combined.
Yet we do nothing for the soldiers coming home every day who have fallen in Iraq. It just rubs me the wrong way.

Don't take me wrong, I will observe the moment!
