"A woman who had everything lost her life to have a slightly firmer behind"
Ex-Miss Argentina dies after cosmetic surgery

Monday, November 30, 2009

(11-30) 17:37 PST BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) --

A 38-year-old former Miss Argentina has died from complications after undergoing cosmetic surgery on her buttocks.

Solange Magnano, a mother of twins who won the crown in 1994, died of a pulmonary embolism Sunday after three days in critical condition following a gluteoplasty in Buenos Aires.

Close friend Roberto Piazza said the procedure involved injections and the liquid "went to her lungs and brain."

"A woman who had everything lost her life to have a slightly firmer behind," he said.

5. I just point out absurdities
What sort of reaction are you supposed to have here? Sympathy? For a person who chose to risk her life for vanity, even after winning the genetic lottery... while consuming medical resources that might otherwise be used to save a life?

If you're so thin-skinned as to be offended by my comment, you may want to avoid that Internet thing in the future - it's a jungle out there.

we recently had the first whorehouse busted in covington, louisiana since the dinosaurs roamed, in fact no one could ever remember having a whorehouse in covington, the bust was also intriguing because the youngest lady was 48 and the oldest 53

the magazine "over 50" abt swingers in their middle years isn't popular because "it's all over at 35" anyone age 39 or younger would be a bit player in the lay outs and the stories

and get into fetish and it's kids in their 30s who are fucked, i don't wanna fantasize abt having my ass kicked by a 32 year old child (sorry elin), i wanna see a real adult w. a firm hand and some life experience to play out those sick disgusting "got sent to the principal" fantasies

hormones change in unpredictable ways and i accept that some individuals it truly is over after age 35...but for many women (and some men)...let's just say...NOT TRUE IN THE LEAST

and some people want to fantasize abt things that could actually happen.. they want to see an idealized person of their own age group as the star of the fantasy...

i am truly sorry abt this death, just as i am truly sorry abt the death of olivia goldsmith, any time someone dies who was just trying to provide me with a harmless fun good time and they weren't hurting anyone...it's shitty and god sucks

she wanted to be beautiful, truly is there a more harmless dream than this?

49. All over at 35? That depends on what you mean by "all over."

The woman in this (summer 2009) pic is 57, and her figure hasn't changed appreciably in the
last 30 years. The only surgery she has had was for breast cancer, but if looking like she
does means it's been "all over" for the last 22 years, you sure could have fooled me.

54. I'm of the Yogi Berra school on that one
"It ain't over til it's over."

Maybe if you're 19, and your mom looks like a mess at 45, you get the impression that life ends at 50, but
there are plenty of us who are staring 60 in the face, and say "bring it on." My wife is one such woman,
and she'll laugh in the face of anyone who wants to tell her it's been "all over" for the last 7 years.

53. Thing is, the ugly people really are pretty rare.
They're out there, but just a fraction.

The overwhelming majority of people walking on the streets in Brazilian cities--all ages, all genders--would cause at least minor traffic accidents if transplanted to the US, and that's just a fact.

Part of it's the plastic surgery factor, but that's a teeny teeny percentage, really.

A lot of is is just people being in shape--cities where people do most of their business on foot and spend long nights out in clubs dancing well into their 70s....that contributes to attractiveness all the way around, including just color in the face.

And the gene pool: to make your average Bahiana (my mom's home town) there is a lot of the very best of the Iberian peninsula/Moors, Native South America, and West Africa embodied in the mix of everyone. And that is such an amazing mix of skin tones, hair textures, eye colors, and body shapes that there's so much of the best of "we are the world" to look at. (And eat and listen to - the food and music reflects this heritage too!)

(And they appreciate weird beauty from everywhere: the second time I went there to meet Mom's family, when I was 18 in 1987, I was the toast of the town with my dyed-black Goth hair and my ghostly Irish complexion from Dad's side, total fandom nerd-girl as I am. Why? Because The Cure had just toured there for the first time, Brazilians love them, and that look was all the rage. The Goth fashions on sale in Brazil that year were waaayyy better than anything available in the US ever!)

57. Interesting point about being in shape
I noticed that in Vancouver, BC. Even if you're talking just about the Anglo population (my term; I don't know what term Vancouverites use), people are much more attractive than in the US. Young and old tend to be trim and erect and healthy looking. The city has a layout that favors walking.

I also noticed something similar in France and Germany.
