Woods Says Crash 'Embarrassing,' Wife 'Courageous'
Nov. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Tiger Woods, commenting for the first time on a one-car crash that left him cut, bruised and sore, said it was “embarrassing” and that his wife acted “courageously” after she saw he was hurt.

<snip>

“The situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me,” said Woods, the No. 1 player in the World Golf Rankings. “I’m human, and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

Woods said it was a “private matter” and that he wanted to keep it that way.

“Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible,” he said, without elaboration.

2. embarrassing that a woman beat him ?
that's the only reason i can see why he would say it's embarrassing because they say he wasn't drunk.

She comes from a profession where anorexia and bulimia are pandemic.

And she is supposed to have whipped his ass?

Somehow things just don't add up.

Edited for speling.

9. I was under the impression she was a model..

I saw that posted several times and no one corrected it so I assumed it was correct.

Other than what I've read in regard to this story I know nothing of her and little about her husband.

On edit: I'm tired tonight, my speling sucks..

Eating disorders are relatively common in women of all socioeconomic levels and all different lines of work. Did you have a point?

6. Any young, healthy male adult who drove out of his
driveway, turned onto the street, then hit a fireplug and a tree would be embarrassed.

20. BINGO!
Fuck, I was embarrassed when I hit a fucking whitetail deer, and that wasn't even something I could avoid. It actually could be something as simple as he was fiddling with his cell phone, maybe texting and driving, and didn't look where he was going before he hit the accelerator. It sounds stupid, and it is. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen all the time, including to celebrities. Is it the real story? I dunno.

15. Ha! No kidding
But then again, "beating around the bush" "flogging dead horses" and making mountains out of molehills" keep a lot of people in shape here.

5. He's deluded and out of touch...
It's hard to respect comments about feeling excitement for the "challenge of transforming a desert terrain into a world-class golf course."

Intelligent people call that an ecological travesty and sustainable development clusterfuck.

14. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..
Profligate waste of precious resources however is forever.

As a species we are rapidly running out of fresh water, building golf courses in the desert is a remarkably short sighted thing to do.

19. I'm not quite sure what it was you wished to convey..
Which was why I used the term "if"..

In my eyes profligate waste is not "beautiful", just the opposite in fact.
