8. Guns aren't used for just hunting
Lots of us like to use them in competition. 10-round magazines are a pain-in-the-butt for competition and practicing. Look up USPSA shooting.

Also the AWB did nothing to ban these mags - there were tons of pre-ban hi-caps floating around.

And personally I like having a few more than 10 in my self-defense handgun. Cause one or two sickos a year go on a rampage is no reason to punish the rest of us!

Funny how Dems who rail against the Patriot Act want to ban guns from the rest of us.

Of course I also see the irony of the Freepers who don't want even sensible gun laws love the Patriot Act - course you know if a Dem congress passed it they'd be fighting it.

13. Whats so stupid about it?
It attempts to control that which has been shown that theres no offsetting benefit in public safety in controlling, and in doing so, it pushes votes away for no good reason.

See the study that was done after the original AWB expired for more info. I believe it was done by the USDOJ.

Let's enforce the common sense gun laws that are already on the books first
such as the no-guns policy at Virginia public universities. Maybe we need to figure out why that policy didn't work out this time.

4. Sorry - I'm with the Freepers on this one
the AWB bill was a stupid bill. Democrats should get a better education in firearms before they write these crap bills that do nothing.

I could possibly agree with banning the really big magazines or drums - say over 30 rounds - but so far I think any of those being used in a crime is almost nil.

I really wish the NRA and the Brady people, the Democrats and the Republicans would sit down and work on sensible gun laws.

9. "Common sense"?!?
:eyes:

Whose "common sense" are you talking about?

Certainly not mine nor a lot of other peoples.

McCarthy can't even explain or decipher her own legislation.

Just ask her what a "barrel shroud" is... go on... I dare you.

Hilarity warning...

11. "it's a shoulder thing that goes up"...
"No... it's not".

What I also find amusing... is that as hard and heavy McCarthy has been about gun-control (and the AWB in particular), is that one would think that she'd stop calling them "large capacity ammunition clips".

I can understand the common person and/or journalist making that mistake... but a seasoned Congresswoman
with an anti-RKBA agenda?!?

That'll really confuse her. :smoke:
