Just got my health insurance renewal...
I'm self-employed. My premiums are going up 36%. Normally it goes up around 18%. And this is for a Health Savings Account which already has a high deductible.

1. sorry to hear that.
this is what happens when politicians don't have to buy on the open market themselves.

they already have their public option, and theirs is better than the proles will ever have access to.

2. That's what happened to me, too, with our HD plans with the HSA
So I switched to a PPO plan with a low monthly premium but a $6000 yearly deductible. Fingers crossed for a year without major problems.

3. This is their way of gaming the 4-year reform bill delay.
They may eventually have to sign up people w/ pre-existing conditions, but they're going to make sure that their profit is always an ascending line. No matter how many people won't be able to afford real coverage because of their tactics.

5. Send a copy of an old bill & the new one to your Senators.
Even if your Senators are committed to voting for it, they can use info like this to convince other wavering ones. I hope everyone who gets high increases does the same!

6. Like HSAs aren't already a scam - now they're pulling this crap
Looks like this "reform" will work almost as well as credit card "reform" has.

I'm starting to get nervous whenever I hear the Democrats talk about reform - I figure it means we're about to get screwed.

8. I am sorry to hear that!
The Insurance companies can put themselves out of business as far as I am concerned.

The screw the small guy everytime they get a chance!
