Congress rails against fraud at KBR, former Halliburton unit
http://www.ktre.com/Global/story.asp?S=6394055

<snip>They zeroed in on what they see as a string of fraud and contract abuses on a multi (B) billion-dollar contract to provide food and shelter to U-S troops in Iraq.

Lawmakers and the U-S inspector general have accused the former division of Houston-based Halliburton Company of abusing federal rules in record-keeping on its contract. Lawmakers say nearly two (B) billion dollars in overpricing has been identified by defense auditors and investigators on the contract. snip

Halliburton was formerly headed by Vice President Dick Cheney. It recently completed a stock-swap program that separates itself from K-B-R, leaving two independent companies.
