Because wikipedia tells me that bigot is of the same root as visigoth. And Etymology Online tells me that it was originally used as a derogatory name for the Normans. That doesn't seem very classy to me. In fact, I may go as far to say that this is a classless post. I hope your stuffing is dry. There, I said it.

Haven't seen many Visigoths around these parts since the Battle of Guadalete. Let's just say that got what was coming to them. Now, if it's Ostrogoths you're talking about, that's a whole 'nother story. If I'm fortunate, we'll have a celebration the likes of which not seen since the rule of Theodoric the Great.
