Lou Dobbs: Friend Of Illegal Immigrants Everywhere?
Eric Kleefeld | November 25, 2009, 11:06AM

Lou Dobbs is looking at any number of possibilities for a political career, such as running for Senator from New Jersey, or even the presidency. And he would of course be running on a signature issue of...his great friendship with the Latino community, and support for amnesty for illegal immigrants, and a path to citizenship???

This does seem quite odd, for a man who made his career denouncing illegal immigrants for several years on his CNN show. But as the Wall Street Journal points out:

In a little-noticed interview Friday, Mr. Dobbs told Spanish-language network Telemundo he now supports a plan to legalize millions of undocumented workers, a stance he long lambasted as an unfair "amnesty."

"Whatever you have thought of me in the past, I can tell you right now that I am one of your greatest friends and I mean for us to work together,"
he said in a live interview with Telemundo's Maria Celeste.

"I hope that will begin with Maria and me and Telemundo and other media organizations and others in this national debate that we should turn into a solution rather than a continuing debate and factional contest."

Mr. Dobbs twice mentioned a possible legalization plan for the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S., saying at one point that "we need the ability to legalize illegal immigrants under certain conditions."

Who is this impostor that has replaced the Lou Dobbs we all know and love -- and how much cheaper is he working?

As this video shows, however, Telemundo host Maria Celeste wasn't buying it from Dobbs, and repeatedly challenged him on a false claim that his show had made years ago, accusing illegal immigrants of spreading leprosy:

4. I know, but that didn't stop him from slandering Hispanics at every
opportunity. I don't know why this is brought up constantly; this fact didn't change his stripes.

3. The immigrant population might be uneducated, but they're not stupid.
Besides, without adequate health care, where are they going to get those same drugs the regular Republican rabble are all doped out on?

"Lou Dobbs Gets Shredded by Latina Talk Show Host" will be a YouTube hit any day now.

5. How do you say flip flop in Spanish?
Is he running as a Rethuglican? Dumb question I know. If so, he'll lose the pro-America parts of the country that form his base if he does this.

7. He probably looked a poll and figured he could get more votes
saying that than he would lose.

He's wrong of course, an amnesty plan is a horrible idea and it has nothing to do either way with your opinion on latinos.
