I am a journeyman contstruction tradesman. We are not allowed, for safety reasons (so they say), to listen to a radio at work. But I just HAD to hear the Conzales hearing so I rigged my hardhat for sound, isolated myself from the high traffic areas of the site, and snuck the earbud in when noone was looking. I was ready for the fireworks!
The hearing took me through a list of emotions topped by outrage and followed closely by bewilderment and disgust. And if it were not for NPR, I would not have been able to experience this historic event as a first-hand spectator. For that, I would like to express my thanks for the valuable public service NPR provides. So, I sent them a short note which says simply:
Dear NPR:
Thank you very much for all you do.
Sincerely,

Then, I came home and got online and went to my local NPR station's donation page and made my contribution. Their goal is $360,000 and I encourage anyone else in the North Texas area to make your donation to
http://support.kera.org/radio/">KERA.org and for those of you who live elsewhere but still appreciate and listen to National Public Radio, please don't hesitate to help your local NPR affiliate with your financial support (or donate to KERA!).
