2. NO, it was the mariachi band that did him in. But,
Lou was a good sport to realize that he was had, and had in 12 ways. When he tried to say, "Hey, if this is an interview, don't I get to talk?" he was already pissing his pants because Jon painted a picture that he could never, ever attack. At least, not factually.

6. I was watching the repeats because I wanted to see Colbert
skewer Sarah Palin's 'steaming pile of shit' book on The Word. That was hilarious.

And yes the mariachi band was perfect. :hi:

15. me too, but damn, that was a good way to get there.
I wonder how much of a head's up Dobbs got. Probably none at all.

One thing about Jon, that guy is better prepared than most "alleged" journalists are when doing an interview. AND, that SOB actually reads the books before he interviews the authors! How is that legal?

Sad commentary on the state of the fourth estate.

3. Yeehah
I'll watch it tonight.

Was Dobbs defending Addington? I swear, Addington made my skill crawl more than Yoo did.

in our schools.

I am still confused why thedailyshow has it dated the 17th if it broadcasted last night.

16. naw. Just pleasantly chiding him on some facts was great.
If you destroy someone to their core, no one else will ever appear on your show.
He did more than enough, and he was pleasant about it.

might as well move on to some real issues.

20. Stewart to Dobbs: Your views are ;abhorrent, wrong, but consistent;
Edited on Fri Nov-20-09 10:31 AM by jakeXT
Jon Stewart greeted former CNN anchor Lou Dobbs, an outspoken opponent of illegal immigration, with a Mexican Mariachi band Wednesday on The Daily Show, before talking to him for 24 minutes about his views, CNN, and politics.

"Lou Dobbs! What the hell happened?" opened Stewart, wasting no time asking Dobbs about his abrupt departure from CNN.

"What happened is CNN and I decided that we would be going different directions," replied Dobbs. "John Klein, the president of CNN told me point blank that the network was going to move away from advocacy journalism, that I practice, and move toward something he called 'middle of the road' journalism."

Dobbs' views have earned him harsh criticism in recent years, especially from Hispanic groups, as a result of his increasingly fervent admonishment of undocumented immigrants. He's also been scolded this year for repeatedly suggesting Obama should prove he really was born in the United States, despite the fact that his U.S. birth certificate has been verified by numerous sources.
