“No More Money, No More Troops” – Call Congress Today
Let’s keep up the momentum from this weekend’s protests. Here is something that everyone can do. Call Congress today, January 29, 2007. Below you can find your representative. Tell them to support and co-sponsor H.R. 508. Phone calls and faxes are the best way to communicate with them. Emails are great, but they usually only tally them; for, against or no opinion. Give them something tangible to go to the floor with. Congress members love to bring a stack of papers with them to the floor to demonstrate how many people support or oppose a bill.

Information on H.R. 508:
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:H.R.508.IH:

Summary of H.R. 508:
H.R.508
Title: To require United States military disengagement from Iraq, to provide United States assistance for reconstruction and reconciliation in Iraq, and for other purposes.
Sponsor: Rep Woolsey, Lynn C. (introduced 1/17/2007) Cosponsors (27)
Latest Major Action: 1/17/2007 Referred to House committee. Status: Referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and in addition to the Committees on Armed Services, Veterans' Affairs, Rules, and the Judiciary, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.

Then call your Senators and tell them: No More Money, No More Troops. http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

It was wonderful to meet all of you DU’ers this weekend. What a blast.

So please take a few minutes of your day, to call congress, especially if they are on the other side of the aisle. Then post their responses to your call. Thank you all.

1. 1-800-SOB-U-SOB is one of the Capital switchboard numbers.
Somebody at the phone company gets 'it.'

4. I don't think that number works anymore.
Last year they stopped the toll-free numbers. If I find one I will post it.

2. Senator David Vitter is SUPPORTING
President Bush and his "surge," in spite of the fact 70% of the people want this war to end! So much for speaking "for the people." A Senator to be proud of!!! :sarcasm: :woohoo: It makes a constituent proud...

5. Make those calls, everybody
Especially if you weren't able to be in DC this weekend. Here is your chance to make a difference and let your voice be heard.
