Nickname this dying decade
Edited on Thu Nov-12-09 12:16 PM by AzNick
I know, it will *really* die on 12/31/2010 at midnight, but to many decades are defined by the third digit of the year.

Before that we had:

The disco Seventies
The turbulent Eighties
The naughty Nineties

First of, how do you call the 2000-2009 decade?

The "Oz"? The "two thousands"? The "double-Oz"?

Second, how would you nickname it?

5. Well we need to do something about this decade
I thought I missed the Eighties the most, but I truly miss the Seventies. Granted, that was my childhood decade, I was a teen in the Eighties, but I miss the flower power, big deal, let's have fun atmosphere of the era.

The beginning of the Eighties was crazy because they were the continuation of the Seventies, but after 84 it all went down and the New Wave in music was replaced by the Cold Wave.

7. The Hangover
Because of the effect 9/11 had on the country and our politics. I'm referring more to its exploitation by the GOP gov't.
