1. Thank you, I wondered about what he left. It reminded me of the tender Jewish custom of leaving
stones on a gravesite. I found it very touching.

2. Remember what Bush did with his presidential coin?
He gave it to the mother of a soldier who had been killed in Iraq...and then told her "Don’t go sell it on eBay."

3. On wikipedia they are called 'Challenge Coins'
Trying to find photos of other President's personal coins but haven't had much luck and I am heading to bed.

Found the below article on Wikipedia regarding the history of Challenge Coins:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Challenge_coin

p.s. There is an article regarding 'Presidential Coins' on Wiki but those are something different - those are the minted $1 coins with dead presidents on them.

5. "commander in chief" vs "president of the united states of america"
That is interesting, thank you for finding these photos.

6. I noticed that too, it's interesting actually.
Given that this was a military visit/service, commander in chief would be appropriate. But I've always found the term a little...cold.

Anyway, here's where I found them: http://www.worthpoint.com/blog-entry/challenge-coin That site has a whole bunch of other various coins: a Camp David one (I suppose if you were invited to Camp David), and just various presidential visits.

7. The chickenhawk loved the idea
of calling himself a war president. :puke:
