C-Span Conspiracy? Why is Hearing on C-Span3?
now I am not an expert in c-spanary but I know that most cable ops only carry C-span 1 and 2, that 3 is not on most systems. Is this normal, or is this a way to keep eyes off of this?

thanks

1. It's pretty normal for hearing to be broadcast on 3

If you're near a computer, you can stream it. They might be playing it on the Judiciary website. Sorry, I forgot the address. If I find it, I'll come back and post it.

Here you go: http://judiciary.senate.gov/hearing.cfm?id=2632

2. Question is asked every single time...
CSPAN1, by their charter, *MUST* carry coverage of House Floor proceedings while the House is in session. Similarly, CSPAN2 must carry coverage of the Senate Floor.

They have *no* choice in the matter. They can show anything else while the House and Senate (respectively) are not actively in session, but while they're in session they have to show it. That's why there's so bloody much time on CSPAN2 watching the various quorum calls. If the Senate's in session, CSPAN2 is showing the floor.

So, there's no conspiracy. It's just CSPAN 1 and 2 doing exactly what they were set up to do - showing the legislative bodies in action.

5. C-SPAN 1 exists ONLY to cover the HOUSE , when in session. That's the priority. C-SPAN 2 exists

ONLY to cover the Senate, when in session. When neither is in session, THEN they can cover other current events, but their first priority is to cover the House and Senate. C-SPAN 3 is for everything else, I think. I don't have C-SPAN 3.
