I've been watching MSNBC tonight and it's all about NBC and the package sent from Cho and the pictures. Over and over, the pictures and the rantings of this Cho. I'm listening to his rantings and I'm wondering what this would feel like if I were a parent, brother, sister, friend, child, of one of the dead. It's bad enough to watch not knowing anyone from VT. So now I'm asking myself why it is necessary for NBC or MSNBC to be playing this horror over and over and over. Brian Williams made a big deal tonight of how they got the package and how they made a copy of it and how they were duty bound to give it to the Feds and how they were also duty bound to play it for the public over and over and over. It's only 11 p.m. abd I'm sure it's not over.
There was some lame statement from some lame talking that by showing this horror...the rantings of a maniac...maybe we could all learn something from it. I have and it is that these people in the MSM have no heart, no soul, no empathy and no discretion. This is all about the ratings. This is not about freedom of the press or my right to know. MSNBC could have given us the narrative rather than giving some parent, some brother, sister, child or friend the last image they would have of their loved ones' end moments. They could have waited until after these people were buried, until their families were able to give them a respectful farewell without the stench of the public spectacle brought to you by NBC...and now let's break for a commercial message. There is no excuse for this, just not one excuse. There is an explanation and it is found by following the money, the ratings, the money. After all, in all of the sorrow, there is the money and someone has to make it, right?
For the folks who might say that I could turn my TV off and not watch this offal, I say, yes I could do that but then I might never know how far down the sewer these pious looking news readers and their bosses have gone...all the way to the bank.
