Up To 4.5 A Day Now...

Link: http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~stephan/USfatalities.html

That would make about 450 in the next three months or so. It's only January, so we should be hittin the 4,000 mark somewhere in July, I think.

Please feel free to bookmark this, and prove me wrong.

Seriously, PLEASE prove me wrong.

1. Sorry, buddy
Your numbers are coming in close to mine. If this goes on ...

So many of us predicted this is where we were headed back in 2003. Sometimes, it really sucks to be right.

3. I suck at math
I figured it simpler:

The Total > Divided by the number of months of the war > Divided by 30 > Ending up with roughly 63 per month and 2.3 per day.

Your numbers are worse but no less sickening. Add in the wounded and the hundreds of thousands of killed Iraqis and that's when I pray that God forgives us for this.

4. my moving average
has been inching up from a low of 46/month in March '04 to 65 at end of December '06

but the increase in last four months pretty much makes a moving average from that far back meaningless. Historical data no longer means anything. So your projection is as good as any. Or bad as any.
