The Blue Dogs are afraid of the "Tea Baggers".
I would suggest that their fears are misdirected. They should be afraid of those Democratic voters that put them into office. They should choose their poison carefully.

I will personally work against every Democrat that votes against healthcare reform and I am certain there are many others that will vote likewise. I would say, do not fear the unknown - fear the known. After all, if you were getting elected with a majority of Republican votes, then you would be running as a Republican. My advice would be to not forget who brought you to the dance...

Those people are one itchy trigger finger away from doing something to hurt a lot of people.

2. hiding inside the beltway, they are.
going home in their limos, having their aides take care of business. living in huge homes with guards. spending their off hours at cocktail parties . never ever going near real people . never worked a job in their life. meeting with lobbyists who shower them with money. they remind me of leona helmsly. idiots.
they are afraid of losing their HUGE lobbyist money. THATS what they are afraid of. how else would they live their champagne lifestyles? who would buy their armani suits and how would they be able to send Muffy and Biff to Yale?
God forbid they might have to wipe their own ass.

3. Playing Devils' Advocate here --

1. Blue dogs come from conservative districts that used to go Republican. Lots of their constituents are Republican or used to be Republicans (now "independent". LOL)
2. The GOP/Insurance Companies/Lobbyists have done a lot to distort and demonize healthcare reform
3. We have seen that conservatives are quite susceptible to that kind of manipulation

So probably the Blue Dogs are getting lots of calls from their Republican/Formerly Republican constituents that are anti "govt run healthcare".

So I can see how some might be ambivalent about it -- their constituents appear to be against HCR.

-------

OR MAYBE THEY JUST LIKE THE CASH THEY RECEIVE FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANIES
