What keeps the republicans soo unified??
Edited on Fri Nov-06-09 04:16 PM by samrock

In 1981 Reagan got several democrats to vote for his policies and I belive in 2001 Bush for a few for his.. BUT in 1993 Clinton could not get a single republican representive to vote for his budget as I recall and it appears in 2009 Obama will had the same luck and none will vote for health care in either house.. I can not image ANY republicans voting against Reagan or Bush for there policys and now with a HUGE surplus in the house we can not even get 218 to vote FOR health care!! WTF!?!?!?!

4. They like authoritarian structure in their organizations. Even their
candidate selection process for presidential candidates favors the highest in the pecking order. They are not independent or critical thinkers and move as a group. Concern with maintainting the status quo limits you from striking out for new horizons.

5. Simple thinking.
They see black and white and miss all shades of grey while Dems see the whole spectrum and are therefore prone to independence.

13. They can't afford to agree with Democrats on anything,
cause then folks would finally understand that the Democrats have better idea than Republicans.

Can't have that, no matter if it imperils all Americans.

19. White Male Supremacy
Democrats represent everybody else and there are too many Democrats who still refuse to believe it. They still allow themselves to be bullied and intimidated by the white men in their districts.

20. Fear.
They are:

* Fearful of change.
* Fearful of liberals.
* Fearful of anyone not like them.
* Fearful a woman or person of color will take their job (never mind that their fear of change prevents them from bettering their skill level to compete with someone who might actually be more skillful than they).
* Fearful that white men are no longer the sole owners of power in the United States.
* Fearful of science.

I could go on, but you get the point.

27. yep- nothing binds a group together better than fear-
just like any group of animals- it is fear that allows a sheepdog to herd a flock- and the fear generated by 9/11 allowed many people to be fooled into oking things they wouldn't have, given a more rational state of mind.

Dems aren't immune to fear- i think some of us simply accept it as a part of life on earth, and see fear as a very dangerous master.

26. Combination of racism, religious intolerance, and greed.
Edited on Fri Nov-06-09 05:13 PM by FormerDittoHead
It's not that easy, because those who are against woman's right to choose (religous) and homophobic would(should) be in favor of helping out the poor, yet the libertarians would sooner see poor people die in the streets than have their taxes raised.

Libertarians, on the other hand (the greedy) couldn't care less about abortion or gays and even want drugs legalized. Compare that to the group above.

But the CORE Republican is a racist. It's that simple.
