Fox News - "Planned Parenthood Director Quits After Watching Abortion on Ultrasound"
So, is this story news or opinion according to Fox? I am sure they cover the stories about abortions continue unabated in many places that outlaw abortions, but under unsanitary conditions.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,571215,00.html

###

The former director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in southeast Texas says she had a "change of heart" after watching an abortion last month — and she quit her job and joined a pro-life group in praying outside the facility.

Abby Johnson, 29, used to escort women from their cars to the clinic in the eight years she volunteered and worked for Planned Parenthood in Bryan, Texas. But she says she knew it was time to leave after she watched a fetus "crumple" as it was vacuumed out of a patient's uterus in September.

'When I was working at Planned Parenthood I was extremely pro-choice," Johnson told FoxNews.com. But after seeing the internal workings of the procedure for the first time on an ultrasound monitor, "I would say there was a definite conversion in my heart ... a spiritual conversion."

Johnson said she became disillusioned with her job after her bosses pressured her for months to increase profits by performing more and more abortions, which cost patients between $505 and $695.

"Every meeting that we had was, 'We don't have enough money, we don't have enough money — we've got to keep these abortions coming,'" Johnson told FoxNews.com. "It's a very lucrative business and that's why they want to increase numbers."

1. Some people don't have the stomach for surgeries.
It is good she left as that seems to be the case.

2. Perhaps that's all there is to the story
But I wonder if there's more.

I Googled her and found the story only on rightwing/anti-abortion sites. I was hoping to find a statement from Planned Parenthood.

BRYAN, Texas — Planned Parenthood has filed a temporary injunction to prevent a former director of its Bryan clinic from teaming up with a local anti-abortion group to release records from her eight years of work at the family planning clinic.

The employee, Abby Johnson, said Monday that she never planned to release the records.

Either way, the case, which has gained national attention on conservative online media sources and anti-abortion blogs, has caused a skirmish between the clinic and the Brazos Valley Coalition for Life, which recently moved its headquarters several hundred feet away from the clinic.

A hearing on the issue is scheduled for Nov. 10 in the 85th District Court.

<snip>

Lawyers for Planned Parenthood wrote in court documents filed Friday that Johnson was seen copying confidential personnel files and possibly other documents in the days before she abruptly resigned on Oct. 6. The clinic's lawyers expressed worry in the filings that Johnson might release clients' medical records, information about doctors who work at the clinic and the clinic's security measures.

3. Or because she's receiving money.
There's more discussion about this elsewhere here on DU.

Her motivation for leaving is up for interpretation; which faux is happy to apply; as they see fit.

"Johnson said she never got any orders to increase profits in e-mails or letters, and had no way to prove her allegations about practices at the Bryan branch."

Not to mention, anyone familiar w/the procedure knows what she describes is a fiction.

Sounds like horseshit.

How exactly do you perform more and more abortions? Were there not enough docs there to cover whatever demand they had in the first place? Were they turning people away? Do you go out and impregnate women so that that can have an abortion? how exactly does one perform more and more abortions? and since when do volunmteers poerform the abortions in the first place fdont they hire doctors for that?

Why was she watching and not performing the abortion? So many things wrong with this story.

11. And here's the rest of the story....she stole files from PP & gave out doctor's names to protesters
http://www.salon.com/mwt/broadsheet/feature/2009/11/03/planned_parenthood/index.html

Apparently she did "work" at PP in some capacity until they caught her doing this stuff and slapped her w/an injunction.
She was copying patient files and passing along doctor's personal info to anti-choice groups, painting a target on their doctors.

She a dangerous person who is a thief with an agenda.

Those patients and doctors are at risk because of her.

12. So, she immediately joined a bunch of Operation Rescue wannabes
and ran straight into the arms of World Nut Daily.

That's a little more than a "change of heart". More like a Horowitz-sized conversion into zealot bomb thrower. I don't think she's giving the whole story.

21. I did some searching and couldn't find anything that says it's a regular part of the procedure
Of course, that doesn't mean it never is, but I personally couldn't find anything that said it was.

I think this story is bogus anyway

16. Keyword... "A" planned parenthood facility
A manager at A McDonalds in Shithole, Tenn who throws a tray at a customer could yield a headline like:
