These wars need to end.
Once someone returns from their first tour of duty in a combat situation, where death is imminent, they are relieved and exhilarated in a quiet way, that they were lucky to make it thru one tour of duty. When they volunteer for their second tour, many second-guess themselves about whether they made the right decision?

By the third tour, the person (soldier) is emotionally exhausted. They are cheating death. Normal life is boring. It doesn't have the excitement or thrill of the war zone.

So they voluteer for a fourth tour. And then a fifth tour. These are our young people being sent to war that many say is not necessary for the defense of our country?

The wars need to end.

Why go to Afghanistan?

2. Yes they do!
We need a leader who understands and agrees.

Do you think we'll ever get one?

We haven't got one now.

7. and there is a ripple effect that touches families, friends
and goes on for generations. It's impossible to measure the hurt and suffering.
We should have learned that from Vietnam.
