Because Medicare is not "socialized," it is single payer.

However, the Veteran's Administration IS socialized, so I suppose those Teabaggers who are military vets should denounce their V.A. benefits, no?

Maybe it is a fine point to some, but I think it is worth understanding and pointing out the differences between "socialized" healthcare (i.e. Veteran's Admin) and single payer programs such as Medicare.

I carried this sign and got compliments at my last demonstration.

I remembered reading a professional organizer saying that when the Right invokes distrust of "government" it's helpful to say "my government" or "our government".

It brings perspective on the matter..e.g. "We ARE the government"..The government is accountable to us -- Private Insurance companies is NOT.

Hopefully it digs at the old RW point that "government" is some foreign enemy.
