1. I see the real turkey in that photo...
And it's not the bird on the platter.

8. Don't forget the Mission Impossible stunt
I knew when it happened (after they held up the ship's crew from making their port of call for an extra day, and turning the ship so that people couldn't see just how close they were to San Diego) that the story would morph into how "former fighter pilot" Chimpy McBunnypants had skillfully landed his jet on the deck of the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln, and sure enough that's how it has played out in the years since.

Chimpy didn't like being photographed with the inevitable fruits of his bad decisions. Corpses can't be commanded to smile and applaud enthusiastically.

9. the turkey was not plastic
Edited on Tue Nov-03-09 05:53 PM by busybl
it was a real turkey that wasn't cooked but browned with a kitchen torch
such as you use for creme brulee.

12. Point is, it was all done for show.

The turkey (the one on the platter) was inedible. It may as well have been plastic, cement or yellow cake.

11. This takes me back. I was the one who said
he would not be able to lift the tray so easily if it were a real turkey. Does anyone have a guess as to how heavy the tray would be with the turkey and all the fruit?
