NY 23: Report: 95 Percent Of Hoffman's Cash From Outside District
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/11/report-95-percent-of-hoffmans-cash-from-outside-district.php

The Washington Independent reports today that 95 percent of Conservative NY-23 candidate Doug Hoffman's cash comes from donors outside the district he's trying to win.

Only $12,360 of the $265,341 Hoffman had raised as of Oct. 15 came from within his district, and only 22 of the 146 donors were from in-district. More than a third of the total money came from D.C.-based Club for Growth.

It's not surprising, given the fact that Hoffman doesn't live in the district and the fact that he doesn't have the strongest grasp on local issues. And the race has drawn the attention of national conservative figures such as Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck.

(end snip)

He's a plant. Someone with an agenda put him there and made sure the hype drew attention. And once again, the voters are used.

1. How does that compare to the other two (now one) candidates?

4. Sarah P. and the Allstars only got him 5% in the district.
And it is a conservative district. I am surprised it wasn't higher.

5. This is the race I am going to watch. After the GOP whipped up
the mob, they are now in horror of having the mob turn on them. Frank Luntz may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

6. The republicans can't do this all over the U.S. in 2010. Media talks like this seat
(has been republican forever)is a big switch from Democratic to republican and that Obama's influence is falling.

8. I had no doubt.
I was reported about a week and a half ago how Owens was killing both candidates in funding and all of ths sudden they have all this cash. People around here don't have that kind of cash.

9. It's Called A Proxy War
After watching the snippets of Hoffman on TDS last night, you could see this dude is unqualified for this gig except that he's a teabagger, but that's good enough for the wingnuts who desperately need to find "light" through their journey in the political wilderness.

We'll see more of this next year...Florida Senate will be one and if Hoffman either wins or makes the race close, this is sure to energize the great unhinged to purge their partys of any so-called "RINOS'.

In some ways we saw this with the Democrats as well...to find candidates we could rally around with our checkbooks and phone banks. In a majority of cases this effort was used against the rushpublicans, as opposed to the teabaggers who are content on beating down their party from 30% popularity to 20%.
