We are seeing a truly special kind of crazy. Virginia Foxx is the latest with her
"passing health care is worse than terrorism" nugget. But, really - Michelle Bachmann, Marsha Blackburn, Joe Wilson, John Boner, Vitter, Ensign, Sanford, ......................this is Batshit Crazy Hall of Fame stuff.

Maybe I'm just forgetting, but during those dark years when the Repubs ruled the roost, for whatever reason, the left wing didn't spawn insanity like this....what is going on? What's in the Republican water? Is there some special diet or special beverage that contributes to the antics and hystrionics we are all witnessing?

I suspect that much of the thanks goes to the foaming at the mouth enabling of right wing hate radio and TV (including Faux of course).....

or is it just that Republicans inherently are dealing with less than a full deck???

1. We saw some of this same craziness from the Left, but not at this level of public discourse . . .
We never saw Democratic Congresscritters calling BushCo fascist or comparing George W to Hitler, and you never heard national pundits from the left comparing the legislation and actions of the Reichwing with totalitarianism, but we did see and hear it on leftist blogs and from the general public. Amongst those who witnessed it, who can forget the batshit crazy assertions on DU that BushCo caused the tsunami, or the continuous and unrestrained assertions that elections would be cancelled and dissenters incarcerated in camps across the nation.

But that's just the uninformed, paranoid delusions of "regular" folk, people who spout all sorts of unrestrained nonsense with little expectation it will amount to anything. What's disturbing about the present craziness from the Right is that it emanates from those in positions of national prominence, elected officials, ranking members of the Republican party, and commentators on the national stage. Unfortunately -- indeed, frighteningly -- these people have the potential to influence vast numbers of gullible, paranoid, delusional fools such as themselves. The implications for what may transpire from this insanity are staggering, to say the least.

2. Foxx has been crazy. She's said many a ridiculous and offensive thing. Her
statements about the Matthew Shepard crime and subsequent hate crimes legislation were particularly offensive, as I recall.
And there was something earlier too. Wish I could remember it. Damn.

Anyway, she is particularly loathesome. :puke:
